Refracted Lily

This is the piece I made for the upcoming Botswana show that is shown on the postcard below. It’s called Refracted Lily. It’s based on a photo I took a few years back of … well, what else? A waterlily. It’s printed on cotton sateen using an Epson Stylus Pro 7900. I also used Caran D’ache Neocolor II crayons with water and some color pencil. I’m very pleased with the colors. I’ve been incorporating more and more imagery into my work, but I like combining it with geometric elements. My goal, however, is more like the imagery in my “It’s Time” piece that will be in the Visions show (I’m still in shock over that one) and my latest quilt “The Journey,” which I don’t yet have on this site. More on that quilt soon enough.
