Raystown Getaway
Rich and I ventured out to Pennsylvania. The goal: Raystown Lake.
Rich’s idea. At times I think he has a bowl filled with the names of various lakes written on scraps of paper, and that when it’s time to take a short vacation, he reaches in, grabs a random paper, and makes the lake he pulls the destination. Not because he has a boat, or goes fishing, or enjoys camping, but rather he simply likes getting a room near a lake (I’m an ocean girl, either coast is fine with me).
Here’s some of the journey …
I took the above at a scenic overlook that showcases Raystown Lake. It’s a combination of four images, making it into a panoramic. At some point, I’ll post a tutorial on how to create a panoramic image using Photoshop to combine a series of images.
We did a lot of walking through Trough Creek State Park, including walking across a swinging bridge. That was an experience!
Rainbow Falls, which we discovered after hiking up some trails.

Raystown Lake has a crazy amount of carp.
In some areas, they were squeezed in. Zillions of them. It was Stephen King creepsville. Little Shop of Horrors “feed me” creepsville. 
When all else fails, consult a map!
We saw him crossing the road.
And isn’t this guy a cutie? We saw him on the way to breakfast.
We also took several long drives, this one going into an Amish area.
and, yes, I did find a general store, and I did buy all of the Moda white fabric at $2.25 a yard!
A beautiful day, beautiful drive.

It was much to hot to be taking these photos, but I couldn’t resist.
In case you thought it was all fun … I was working every night. Hmmm … not a “having fun” kind of expression!

Hi Gloria, What beautiful photos, of a beautiful park. I had to laugh, for when I saw you taking a break, and saw that you were wearing sandals, I automatically thought about things that creep in the grass and rocks, like snakes. I enjoy walks in the woods, but dress to avoid critters having easy access to me. Then, in the next photo, you show a picture of a snake! Point made! Thanks for the photos, and, stay safe! Rosemary

Critters, snakes, bugs, and poison ivy! I got stung, bite, and have patches of poison ivy (which luckily I have cream left over from the last time I had it, which was awful). :)
