Cupertino – Home of Apple’s Mothership
While in San Jose, Derry and I took a bus to Cupertino so we could trek to Apple’s headquarters. What was there to do or see? We had no idea other than we felt the pull and had to see “One Infinite Loop” for ourselves. As two Mac addicts, we couldn’t resist. As an aside, Derry had one of the first Mac stores in the UK, and I’ve never met a Mac I didn’t like. In fact, Derry and I first met at a MacWorld in NYC (that’s another story). So, on a very sunny day in April, we were off. (I suppose it’s a bit like my husband needing to see Harley’s headquarters.)
Derry navigating with, what else? His iPod touch. All of Cupertino has wireless access.
While we did get off the wrong bus stop (Google maps isn’t always pin on), we knew we were in the right area.
With each passing Apple sign on De Anza, we knew we were getting close.
And there it was. Infinite Loop (would that mean we would soon find ourselves walking in circles?)
The first thing we saw — the employees’ Apple store, luckily open to the public.
And there it is. The Mothership!
Yes, we went inside. Yes, I had to ask if there were tours. Sadly, no.
One happy boy!
We took far more pictures than I’m showing here. But how could we resist?
I had to get in there, too!
On the way back, sitting in the bus across from us, were these two kids totally engrossed in watching and listening to their iPod. Two Mac addicts in the making.

What a precious photo of these children totally engrossed in today’s technology! Architecture and scenery shots are beautiful, too, but I’m a sucker for kids.

I’m glad you like the pictures. Regarding the kids, we were returning from Cupertino to San Jose on the bus, and the kids kept looking at a woman seated nearby who was watching her iPod Touch. She then saw their interest and allowed them to look at it. She gave them each an earbud, and they were totally engrossed. I couldn’t help but to take some pictures.
