When he&#8217;s outside, he stays on a long leash to help ensure that he doesn&#8217;t find a way out of the fence.\u00a0 It was quite a surprise when I checked on him to find him on top of the hot tub (which has been a bit damaged after some of the nasty weather we&#8217;ve had).\u00a0 I had to take a picture, but he quickly learned that is not an acceptable area for him to be in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5140\" title=\"budz-wet\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-wet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-wet.jpg 430w, https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-wet-300x211.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><br \/>\nWhen I let him in the backyard, generally he is good, sits and waits while I remove one leash and put on his long leash on that is anchored into the outside ground.\u00a0 He will sit until I say go. I also do let him run around, but I or Rich has to be with him.\u00a0 Our trainer also told us to leave his regular leash on so that if we need to, we can grab it.\u00a0 That being said, if I&#8217;m in the process of hooking up his leash and he sees a rabbit or squirrel, he can knock me right over.\u00a0 That is what happened here, and off he went.\u00a0 There was a long pool of water along our fence after days of wicked rain storms.\u00a0 Of course he ran back and forth through that water, happy as can be.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5139\" title=\"budz-close\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-close.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-close.jpg 430w, https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-close-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><br \/>\nGenerally when he&#8217;s outside he sits guard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5141\" title=\"budz-g\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-g.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-g.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/budz-g-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><br \/>\nAnd while lately I call him Bud-z, and sometimes PITA &lt;g&gt;, we are growing more fond of each other.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve received some emails asking how our new dog is doing.\u00a0 Well, he&#8217;s a bit of a handful, but our trainer has been a big help.
