Not only did I hit 50, but the cards kept coming.\u00a0 My plan was to save and open them on the 26th.\u00a0 Monday was a very quiet evening.\u00a0 In that quiet, I sat, opened, and read each card.\u00a0 I cannot even begin to express how much I enjoyed it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2965\" title=\"cards-1b\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cards-1b.jpg\" alt=\"cards-1b\" width=\"430\" height=\"301\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Many had thoughtful notes about the joys of the fifth decade of life.\u00a0 Others thanked me for some help I offered in the past.\u00a0 Such notes were very nice surprises.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2964\" title=\"cards-1c\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cards-1c.jpg\" alt=\"cards-1c\" width=\"430\" height=\"291\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The cards above were all created by the sender, some made of fabrics, others with photographs, one even included an ATC.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2969\" title=\"cards-4b\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cards-4b.jpg\" alt=\"cards-4b\" width=\"430\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cards-4b.jpg 430w, cards.\u00a0 The top left is from Louise Schiele, the top right from Gerrie Congdon, and the lower left is from Janice Simpson.\u00a0 I was wow&#8217;ed when I realized that the face of Janice&#8217;s\u00a0 card included prints of me on fabric from a couple years back when I won a major award at the IQA show.\u00a0 Janice&#8217;s job was taking a group of students to see the exhibits, and her pictures showed me talking to them!\u00a0 The bottom right is from Helen Kusnitz.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2970\" title=\"cards-4a\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cards-4a.jpg\" alt=\"cards-4a\" width=\"430\" height=\"222\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Trina Weller totally surprised me with very cool scissors.\u00a0 They have a very sharp curved top which I am sure will get quite a workout (considering how much I reverse stitch).
