Rich and I ventured out to Pennsylvania. The goal: Raystown Lake.<\/p>\n

Rich\u2019s idea. At times I think he has a bowl filled with the names of various lakes written on scraps of paper, and that when it\u2019s time to take a short vacation, he reaches in, grabs a random paper, and makes the lake he pulls the destination. Not because he has a boat, or goes fishing, or enjoys camping, but rather he simply likes getting a room near a lake (I\u2019m an ocean girl, either coast is fine with me).<\/p>\n

Here’s some of the journey …<\/p>\n

I took the above at a scenic overlook that showcases Raystown Lake. It’s a combination of four images, making it into a panoramic. At some point, I’ll post a tutorial on how to create a panoramic image using Photoshop to combine a series of images.<\/p>\n

We did a lot of walking through Trough Creek State Park, including walking across a swinging bridge. That was an experience!<\/p>\n

Rainbow Falls, which we discovered after hiking up some trails.<\/p>\n

There were several black butterflies …<\/p>\n

and I patiently waited for some to land. \"lake23-01.jpg\"<\/p>\n

taking a break …<\/p>\n

When he said, “There’s a snake,” he wasn’t kidding.<\/p>\n

Raystown Lake has a crazy amount of carp.<\/p>\n

In some areas, they were squeezed in. Zillions of them. It was Stephen King creepsville. Little Shop of Horrors “feed me” creepsville. \"lake22-01.jpg\"<\/p>\n

When all else fails, consult a map!<\/p>\n

We saw him crossing the road.<\/p>\n

And isn’t this guy a cutie? We saw him on the way to breakfast.<\/p>\n

We also took several long drives, this one going into an Amish area.<\/p>\n

and, yes, I did find a general store, and I did buy all of the Moda white fabric at $2.25 a yard!<\/p>\n

A beautiful day, beautiful drive.<\/p>\n

I cannot resist taking butterfly pictures!<\/p>\n

It was much to hot to be taking these photos, but I couldn’t resist.<\/p>\n

In case you thought it was all fun … I was working every night. Hmmm … not a “having fun” kind of expression!<\/p>\n
