“It’s about Time –\u00a0 2009”<\/p>\n

I’m mega aware of time.\u00a0 Am I wasting it?\u00a0 Packing enough interest into my hours?\u00a0 I never feel like I’m utilizing my time as well as I could.\u00a0 And I’m very aware of time ticking by. I often play games with time.\u00a0 For example, if I’m in a situation that I don’t want to be in (like, getting a root canal), I tell myself “this time tomorrow all of this will be a memory.”\u00a0 Or if I need to get something done that I don’t feel like working on, I use a timer and tell myself to work on it for 20 minutes and then stop.\u00a0 I’ve also long since stopped wearing a watch because I tend to time things.\u00a0 Sick, I know.<\/p>\n

On a good note, however, I also like photographing clocks, especially capturing the time that the image was taken.\u00a0 As a result, I have a cool collection of clocks from all over the place.\u00a0 The small quilt above (10 x 10″)\u00a0 was created from a digital collage of clocks.<\/p>\n

After I printed the image on cotton, I then overpainted areas for some extra interest.\u00a0 When quilting this, I sort of overdid the area on the left.\u00a0 It bugged me.\u00a0 Rather then tossing it,\u00a0 I decided to cover it with a sheer fabric.\u00a0 I then tacked it down with additional quilting.\u00a0 It calmed the area enough, keeping the focus on time and stopping me from tossing it.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ve a bunch more collages in this series.\u00a0 One is ready to be quilted, and another is a larger, strange version that I may or may not make.\u00a0 We’ll see if I have the time.\u00a0 <smile><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
