{"id":1367,"date":"2009-01-25T02:32:00","date_gmt":"2009-01-25T06:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/?p=1367"},"modified":"2009-01-25T02:37:25","modified_gmt":"2009-01-25T06:37:25","slug":"pagepacker-a-free-diy-planner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/?p=1367","title":{"rendered":"PagePacker &#8211; a free DIY planner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1370 aligncenter\" title=\"pocket\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pocket.jpg\" alt=\"pocket\" width=\"426\" height=\"154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pocket.jpg 426w, https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pocket-300x108.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I came across a <strong>free Mac OSX utility program<\/strong> called <a href=\"http:\/\/weblog.bignerdranch.com\/?p=23\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>PagePacker<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 The program gives you the tools to create a little 8-page organizer from one sheet of paper.<\/p>\n<p>After launching the program, you&#8217;ll see a template page with eight sections.\u00a0 The program\u00a0 comes with a variety of DIY Planner pages, such as daily, weekly, and monthly\u00a0 to-do lists, calendar pages, and so on.\u00a0 You then select a form and drag it onto the template.\u00a0\u00a0 You can also bring in your own PDFs and images.\u00a0 Once the eight sections of the template are filled, it&#8217;s time to print.\u00a0 After it&#8217;s printed, you fold, fold, snip, fold and &#8211; presto &#8211; you have a booklet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1375 aligncenter\" title=\"pagepacker\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pagepacker.jpg\" alt=\"pagepacker\" width=\"420\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pagepacker.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.gloriahansen.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pagepacker-300x255.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the to-do list\u00a0 reminder booklets, with some careful folding and a bit of glue stick, you can make a very cool little booklet with quilt images.\u00a0 Or with some Misty Fuse or Wonder Under, you can make a small fabric booklet.\u00a0 Once you understand the orientation and layout for each page, you can create as large a book as the paper your printer can handle.\u00a0 How?\u00a0 Print the book to a PDF.\u00a0 Then import the PDF into a program such as InDesign or Photoshop and enlarge it as much as you need to.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have a Mac, there is an online tool &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketmod.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">PocketMod<\/a> &#8211; that&#8217;s similar.\u00a0 To run the application within your browser, you&#8217;ll need a Flash player.\u00a0 Also, there&#8217;s a video that gives you a quick demo of the folding and snipping process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I came across a free Mac OSX utility program called PagePacker.\u00a0 The program gives you the tools to create a little 8-page organizer from one sheet of paper.
