Books

**I am now selling autographed copies of the book, taking credit card through PayPal!  Click here for more details, free chapter download, and more!

I am so excited about this book, Digital Essentials, the Quilt Makers Must Have Guide to Files, Images, and More. It is published by the Electric Quilt company. I have tried to cram into it everything I can think of that will help quilt makers and other artists to understand the digital essentials. My goal is that you can quickly find answers to questions such as:

- resizing images for quilt entry:
- understanding the difference between resolution, dpi, and ppi;
- sizing images for the web, print, digital projection, and so on;
- understanding resizing an image versus resampling it;
- batching images for the web
- easy photo fixes
- and the list goes on.

Penny McMorris from Electrtic Quilt interviewed me for the February 2008 Electric Quilt newsletter. You can read it here.

My older book titles

I am the co-author of The Quilter's Computer Companion, a groundbreaking, almost 400 page book on, in part, using a computer for quilt design. It includes a chapter on printing on fabric, including a recipe that made the then available dye-based ink waterfast. And this was before Bubble Jet Set!
The book was written in 1996 and published in 1997. It is now out of print. But you can still find copies of it around, such as at Amazon and from the publisher, No Starch Press.

I am also the author or co-author of 13 books in C&T Publishing's Free Stuff on the Internet series, including the three editions of Free Stuff for Quilters on the Internet.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the Free Stuff on the Internet books, please contact me as I have several copies of each.

Each book starts with a customized introduction to the Internet with topics like, the anatomy of a Web browser, how to tap into a Web page, and how to read Usenet Newsgroups with your Web broswer. The "meat" of each book is a directory of the best sites offering offering valuable information.

These books are now out of print. However, they are still available through other souces, such as Amazon.
